Product Description
The Coverlet known as ‘Jane Austen’s Quilt of 1811’ was indeed made by Jane, her sister Cassandra and their mother. It is truly a masterpiece in design and complexity. Through the making my own replica, I many times thought of them sitting around a table in their parlour sewing pieces together. As the quilt is a mirror image left to right, I imagined the conversation as they matched their pieces. This image on the postcard is my own interpretation of my imaginings of when they first sat down to sew this quilt which has survived for two hundred years and remains one of the enduring treasures of Jane’s short life.
